In 1986, Amy Zerner broke down the wall between fine crafts and fine art by being awarded a major United States National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in the category of Painting, not Crafts, for her unique surrealist fabric collage tapestries, thereby becoming the first artist to win the Painting award for work that was completely made of fabric, not paint.
In 1991, Amy began to break down the barrier between fine art and couture fashion, developing her concept of Spiritual Couture by applying her tapestries to the back of her hand-made jackets based on the traditional Tibetan ten-go pattern. On the pages of Amy's online gallery you can see close to four hundred examples of her tapestries and wearable art. You can view the progression of her style and mastery. See for yourself why her work is now carried by select Neiman Marcus stores, as well as Bergdorf Goodman in New York City and in the finest boutiques around the country.
